The shift to the opposition will lead to the dismemberment of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). Such conclusions were formulated in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Vitalia Pavlichenco, who heads the National Liberal Party, considers the political forces will unite. “It’s not known if all the 18 MPs of the PLDM will move to the opposition. It’s clear that the PLDM consists mainly of opportunists and persons who can be blackmailed. The fact that the PLDM is falling apart proves this,” she stated.
Alexandru Cauia, dean of the Faculty of Law of the Moldova Free International University, also considers that the PLDM will disintegrate. “This party does not have political continuity. The PLDM is not a united party if the departure of its leader caused chaos. By shifting to the opposition, the PLDM will try to strengthen itself and will victimize itself in order to attract the protest vote of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”. It’s not normal to drop out and leave when you engaged in the European integration process as the main player,” he said.
Victor Alexeev, head of the local organization of the Social Democratic Party of Romania in Moldova, said the PLDM will disappear sooner than expected. “The PLDM will disappear from the Moldovan political arena in a week or two. The disintegration at local level already started,” he stated.
