Sheriff is moving towards a new title of champion. In the evening of October 27, it beat Veris 3-0 in the last match of the 13th stage. The goals were scored by Fernando, Luvannor and Ricardinho, IPN reports.
The competition’s top scorer Henrique Luvannor missed a penalty in the first half. But he scored shortly afterward, in the fourth consecutive match. The 23-year-old striker scored already 12 goals this season.
“Luvannor, Fernando and Ricardinho did well in the offense. They are technical players who can play both on the wing and in the center of the field. We want to distance ourselves from our opponents by winter,” Sheriff coach Veaceslav Rusnac told a news conference.
Veris Chisinau coach Danut Oprea admitted that Sheriff played better. “We got three childish goals. I congratulate Sheriff for this victory. We will continue to struggle for leading positions,” he stated.
The other matches of the 13th stage ended as follows: Speranta - FC Costuleni 0-1, Academia - FC Tiraspol 1-2, Dacia - Zimbru 1-1, Milsami - Dinamo-Auto 1-0, and Olimpia - Rapid 3-1.
In the rankings, Sheriff is seven points ahead of Veris, FC Costuleni and FC Tiraspol.
