Sheriff Tiraspol beat Norway’s Tromso 2-0 in its last math of the current Europa League season on December 12. The goals were scored by Cadu and Ismail Isa in the first half, IPN reports.

Sheriff finished third in the group with six points. In the previous seasons, Sheriff scored by 5 points and by a victory, against Twente and Dinamo Kiev.

However, Sheriff was unable to qualify for the 1/16 finals of the competition. “We wanted very much to close the Europa League season with a victory. Unfortunately, the draw scored in Norway prevented us from fighting for qualification till the end,” Sheriff coach Veaceslav Rusnac told a news conference.

For his part, the coach of Tromso said that his team didn’t deserve losing in Tiraspol. ”The goals scored to us are a New Year present for Sheriff. I think a draw would have been fairer,” said Steinar Nilsen.

Tottenham and Anji qualified in the group. The two teams met yesterday evening in London and the leading Tottenham won by 4-1, with Soldado managing to score a hat-trick. The captain of the national team of Moldova Alexandru Epureanu was integralist at Anji.
