Sheriff Tiraspol has qualified for the groups of the UEFA Europa League. Moldova’s champion eliminated Legia Warsaw owing to a goal scored away, IPN reports.
After the 1-1draw in Poland, Sheriff also tied the second leg at home, 0-0. In the return match played in Tiraspol, Legia played in numerical inferiority for almost an hour after Polish international Michal Pazdan was sent off.
Sheriff reached the UEFA Europa League groups for the fourth time. The team from Tiraspol will learn its opponents in a draw in Monaco on August 25.
