Sheriff plays the first match at home of the current edition of the UEFA Europa League group stage in the evening of September 28. The team from Tiraspol meets the champion of Denmark Copenhagen, IPN reports.
“We anticipate a very difficult match. Copenhagen has worthy players. We will be preoccupied with the defense and will try to strike through counterattack,” Sheriff coach Roberto Bordin told a news conference.
“We had a very good play in the last matches. We play at home and will try to win,” said the captain of Sheriff Mateo Susic.
Sheriff has one point, as Copenhagen does. The team from Tiraspol drew the first match against Zlin in the Czech Republic, while Copenhagen tied with Lokomotiv Moscow.
The encounter between Sheriff and Copenhagen is played in Tiraspol starting at 10:05pm.
