Sheriff drew 1-1 at home with Dinamo-Auto and has thus the same number of points as Zimbru. The two can be outstripped in the rankings by Dacia, which is to play an overdue match against Milsami on September 16, IPN reports.
Sheriff could have opened the score in the encounter with Dinamo-Auto at the end of the first half, but Subotic missed a penalty. New entrant Iurcu scored for the hosts in the 61st minute, when Sheriff had ten players on the field following the elimination of Yahaya in the 73rd minute. Dinamo-Auto profited from the numerical superiority and tied in the 78th minute through Bugneac. “I blame myself for not motivating my pupils enough,” Sheriff coach Lilian Popescu told a news conference.
The other matches of the seventh stage ended as followed: Saxan - Academia 0-3, Speranta - Zaria 0-2, Petrocub-Hancesti - Dacia 1-2, and Milsami - Zimbru 0-2.
