Sheriff defeated Speranța 2-0 in the last game of National Division’s round 16 over the weekend, IPN reports.
The Tiraspol team scored through their captain Mateo Susic, in the 28th minute, and Gelson Rodriguez, in the 52nd minute.
“This is an important victory for us”, Sheriff manager Goran Sablic stated at the post-game press conference.
This win extends Sheriff’s lead to four points over Milsami, which were held to a 1-1 draw by Petrocub.
Elsewhere in round 16, Zimbru defeated St Gheorghe 2-1, and Dinamo-Auto lost to Zaria 0-1.
