Sheriff beat Milsami 3-1 in the derby match of the eighth stage of the National Division. This victory propelled the team from Tiraspol to the top of the rankings. Sheriff is now two points ahead of Milsami, IPN reports.
Yevgheny Oancea opened the score in the 27th minute, but Sheriff remained with ten players at the start of the second half after Bayala was sent off. Milsami missed a penalty in the 70th minute through Dedov, but tied nine minutes later through Oleg Andronic. The final belonged to the hosts. Brazilian player Jairo scored his first goal for Sheriff and the same Oancea set the scoreline in the 90th+4 minute.
“I thank my lads for fighting till the end,” Sheriff coach Roberto Bordin told a news conference.
The other matches of the eighth stage ended as follows: Spicul - Zimbru 1-0, Petrocub - Dacia 3-0, Dinamo-Auto - Zaria 1-0 and Sfantul Gheorghe - Speranta 2-1.
