Sfîntul Gheorghe beat 1-0 Zimbru away in the first leg of the semifinals of Moldova’s Football Cup, IPN reports.
The only goal was scored by Sergiu Istrati in the ninth minute. The second leg is played in Suruceni on May 7.
“It’s hard for me to speak after such matches. The pressure is great and we make mistakes. We create occasions for scoring, but do not manage to take the chance,” Zimbru coach Sorin Colceag told a news conference.
“Things will become clear after the second leg. The 1-0 score is a dangerous one,” stated the coach of Sfîntul Gheorghe Sergey Cebotari.
In the other semifinal, Sheriff won against Milsami 2-0. The second leg will be played in Orhei.
