The medical and social center "Sfânta Anna" was inaugurated today in Vulcănești city. Physiotherapy and body hygiene services will be provided at the center.Additionally, center employees will provide at home assistance. The center is part of the "Ensuring availability of quality medical and social services in Moldova for the years 2019-2022" project, funded by the Czech Republic.
The center is located in a building on the grounds of the Vulcănești District Hospital. In addition to repairs, equipment purchases and personnel training, the Czech also bought a car for the center's needs.
According to the Czech ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Zdeněk Krejčí, support for home care is a long-term priority for the Czech Republic. Over the course of ten years, the Czech Republic has funded the opening of eight home care centers in the Republic of Moldova. The opening of the tenth home care center will take place next week in the northern part of Moldova, in Ocnița.
The Czech Republic has provided support for other projects of inclusive social development, such as supporting the social integration of preschool children, supporting children with autism and supporting care system reform for people with intellectual disabilities.
In other news, the Czech Embassy marked, today, the completion of the "Reducing the risks associated with the discharge of hazardous waste in Cişmichioi" project. Its purpose was to improve the environmental situation."
The Czech Republic has long supported the elimination of environmental problems in Moldova. Previously, the Czech supported pesticide destruction projects, while 450 tons of pesticides were exported from Moldova, due to the financial support from the Czech Republic, worth 1.4 million euros", said Zdeněk Krejčí.
The total amount of financial support granted by the Czech Republic to Moldova exceeds 3 million euros per year.
