The most often subjects addressed by minors through the “Child’s Phone” include problems related to sexuality, relations between mates and communication with parents. The grownups go to specialists to discuss the rude language used by children and their hyperactive behavior, shows a report of the service “Child’s Phone” that was instituted two years ago, IPN reports.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Viorica Dumbraveanu said that among other subjects raised by the children are harassment at school and in trust circles, lack of communication and feeling of loneliness and emotional problems. The adults who use this service inquire mainly about the activities in which children can be involved from a particular age, alternative protection services, methods of obtaining financial assistance, the procedure for enrolling children at kindergarten, the rights of children and the obligations of parents.

“Most of the calls received from children, either those to obtain information or those to seek advice, show that the children lack communication, need to assert themselves and need attention,” stated Viorica Dumbraveanu. Also, the calls from children received at night refer to physical and emotional absence of parents. This is evident by the use of impertinent language by children in the discussion with the counselors.

On July 26, there was launched the website of the service “Child’s Phone” - telefonulcopilului.md. According to the service’s manager Svetlana Moisa, the website contains information for parents, guardians and children, in Russian and Romanian.

The Child’s Phone” is a free telephone assistance service for children that uses the pan-European number 116111 that is accessible in 28 EU member states. In Moldova, this service was launched in June 2014 and is implemented by the International Center “La Strada” and managed by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. It woks nonstop and is free, confidential and anonymous. The service’s address on Skype is: TelefonulcopiluluiMoldova116111.
