Severe Road Accident, Involving a Moldovan Bus Took Place in Barlad this Morning

A severe road accident, involving a Moldovan bus, took place, on the morning of Thursday, September 7, in the Romanian town of Barlad. The collision between the bus and a 17 person minibus occurred on the Barlad-Tecuci-Bucuresti road ended with the death of 12 persons, with 6 others, including children, being injured.
Asked by Info-Prim Neo, the vice council of the R. Moldova in Bucharest, Valentiona Gandea, said that for now there is no official information about the accident, but that she was contacted by telephone by Ioan Varlan, commissar of the Traffic Police Section of the Vaslui Judets Police Inspectorate.
According to Varlan, a minibus containing 17 persons, going on a fishing trip, collided with a Setra 215H bus, belonging to the “Detur-Trans” LTD Company. The bus was driven by Anatol Goncearuc, aged 39 and had 29 persons on board, going to Italy.
Talking about the information provided by commissar Varlan, Valentina Gandea says that during the accident, the driver of the bus and the guide suffered mild wounds, and that the other passengers suffered no injuries. Furthermore, according to the preliminary investigation, the Moldovan driver is not guilty for the accident. The consulate from Bucharest has hold of the bus’ passenger list.
According to the Romanian press, the police claim that the minibus was not destined for passenger transportation, and was a reequipped freight transportation unit.
All the passengers in the minibus were from Onesti town.
