Parliament voted in favor of increasing the allowance for looking after, accompanying and supervising persons with disabilities by 100 lei, to 600 lei. The law on the state social insurance budget for 2014 was passed in the first reading, IPN reports.
The bill provides that the single childbirth allowance will be raised by 500 lei. The medically uninsured mothers will receive 2,600 lei when giving birth to the first child and 2,900 lei when giving birth to every next child. The allowance for insured women will be 3,100 lei and 3,400 lei respectively. The monthly allowance for looking after children up to the age of one year and a half will be raised by 100 lei.
The cold-month allowance will rise from 200 lei to 250 lei. More than 1,900 participants in the Chernobyl cleanup next year will receive pensions of 2,336 lei. It was set taking into account the indexation of the average pension by 7.05%.
Valentina Buliga said that there are over 700,000 payers of mandatory social insurance contributions and 149,000 economic entities in Moldova at present. The norm is for five payers to maintain a pensioner, but the ratio in Moldova is 1.3:1.
