The plenary sitting of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has started on Friday with some moments of silence in memory of the victims of the bus explosion in Tiraspol, occurred on Thursday, July 6.
President Vladimir Voronin expressed his regrets to the inhabitants of Tiraspol regarding the tragedy happened on Thursday. The president mentioned that the whole Moldova is near the inhabitants of Tiraspol in these tragic moments and promised to offer all the support to the investigation bodies of Transnistria in order to identify the guilty persons.
The spokesman of the U.S. Department of State, Sean McCormack declared that U.S.A. condemns those responsible for the bus explosion in Tiraspol that killed 8 people and wounded many more. “Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We stand ready to assist authorities investigating this terrible incident”, is said in the declaration of Sean McCormack, remitted to the Agency for broadcasting.
Sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families, friends, and colleagues of the victims expressed the head of OSCE Mission in Moldova, the ambassador William Hill. According to his declaration, the members of the Mission OSCE were shocked by the explosion yesterday morning in Tiraspol and are deeply saddened by the terrible loss of life. “While all of the circumstances of the explosion are not yet clear, our understanding is that it may have been the result of a criminal intent”, is said in the declaration. The OSCE Mission is ready to offer all the available support to help local authorities in establishing the cause of this tragic event. At the same time, William Hill urges everyone in the region to refrain from speculation, premature conclusions, and hasty accusations until the facts of the matter are definitively established.
In the explosion of the minibus no 21 in Tiraspol 8 persons were killed and 26 were injured.
