Twelve young people will receive the Republic’s Scholarship of 1,200 lei in the 2013/2014 academic year. The Government’s Scholarship of 1,000 lei will be offered to 30 students. Another 15 young people will receive the President’s Scholarship: 10 scholarships of 1,090 lei for university students and five scholarships of 845 lei for vocational school students.
The size of awards and scholarships and the number of recipients was set by a Government Decision, IPN reports. Twenty students from vocational schools will receive the “Gaudeamus” award to the value of 730 lei.
As many as 77 school and university students will receive merit awards this year. The recipients were selected based on their merits, including participation in educational, cultural, sports, and scientific activities and the works published by them. Applications for merit awards were submitted by 16 state education institutions and a private institution.
