Five men and two women aged between 25 and 70 died from complications caused by flu during February 11-17. The victims are from Chisinau, Ungheni, Nisporeni, Cimișlia, Anenii Noi and Taraclia. The number of deaths associated with flu since last October rose to 27, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said 294 cases of seasonal flu were recorded last week. Of these, 43 cases of AH1N1 and AH3N2 were confirmed by lab tests.
The population is encouraged to respect all the prophylaxis and hygiene rules and to immediately see a doctor on the first symptoms, without resorting to self-medication. The flu starts suddenly with fever, headaches, myalgia, cough, pain in the neck and rhinitis. Among children, flu is associated with medium otitis and vomiting.
