The municipal authorities plan to reopen seven kindergartens and 15 groups in Chisinau this year. The investments in education in 2019 were projected at 107 million lei, as opposed to 85 million lei last year, IPN reports.
In a post on Facebook, acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said 43.6 million lei was allocated for reopening the seven kindergartens. One kindergarten is situated in Ciocana district, another one in Râșcani district, two kindergartens in Botanica district and three in Buiucani district. A sum of 8 million lei will be used to reopen 15 groups.
“We will create about 1,800 new places in the preschool education system. Something like this hasn’t been done since the declaration of Independence. This figure represents about 25% of the annual offer of places in the city. Another 24.3 million lei was earmarked for ensuring comfortable conditions in kindergartens and performing current repair works,” said the acting mayor.
