Seven children of the Rehabilitation and Placement Center for children of an early age of Chisinau tested positive for COVID-19. The first case was confirmed in an employee on July 23. Later, 15 children who had been in contact with that person were tested, Svetlana Lupu, head of the Hospital Medical Assistance Policy Division of the Ministry of Health, was quoted by IPN as saying in a news conference.
The official said the Rehabilitation and Placement Center is a medical-social institution that provides treatment for children. “The treatment procedures involve employees of the Municipal Children’s Contagious Diseases Hospital that is situated nearby. Together with the Center’s medical team of, these ensure the treatment of children placed there and their supervision. If there had been a danger, the children would have been transferred to medical institutions,” stated Svetlana Lupu.
A number of 71 children are now at the Rehabilitation and Placement Center for children of Chisinau.
