Serviceman sentenced to 5 years' probation for sex with minor

A serviceman charged with having sex with a minor was found guilty, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the General Prosecutor’s Office. The Drochia District Court sentenced the serviceman to 5 years' probation and released in the court room after the pronouncement. The Balti Military Prosecutor's Office had requested 8 years’ imprisonment for the defendant and announced it would appeal the sentence in higher courts. The serviceman was accused of having repeated sexual contacts with a minor from Drochia district between December 2010 and October 2011.
