Service members to benefit from monthly allowances for renting accommodations

More than 1,000 contract services members of the National Army will benefit from monthly allowances for renting accommodations. The size of allowance will be calculated depending on their ordinary salary. This is provided in a Government decision approved on July 4, IPN reports.

The decision envisions the payment of a monthly allowance to contract services members who weren’t offered accommodation, including employer-provided housing, in the garrison where they do the military service and were included in the list of applicants two need employer-provided housing. To benefit from allowances, the service members will have to provide the lease agreement and evidence that they do not own a home.

Currently, there are 1,389 applicants for such allowances. Of these, 961 work in the municipality of Chisinau, while 352 in the municipality of Balti.

In the previous meeting, the Cabinet decided that the public functionaries with a special status of the Ministry of the Interior will get allowances for paying for rented accommodations.
