Serious car crash at the crossroad of Sfatul Tarii and Kogalniceanu

A severe traffic accident occurred at the crossroad of Sfatul Tarii and Kogalniceanu streets at 14.00, injuring two persons. A Mercedes collided with a trolleybus, pulling it to the sidewalk where it knocked down a tree, Info-Prim Neo reports. Oleg Maidan, the trolleybus driver circulating on route no. 3, told Info-Prim Neo that he had a normal speed while moving on Kogalniceanu Street – 30 km/hour. He saw the Mercedes coming on and honked, but the vehicle accelerated and collided with the trolleybus. As a result of the collision, the trolleybus was thrown into a tree. According to the doctors on the ambulance, preliminary investigations showed that the man driving the Mercedes suffered head trauma and mental shock. Another victim of this accident is an aged woman, which was travelling in the front side of the trolleybus. She says her haunch is injured. The patients were admitted hospital. The both vehicles were damaged, but the condition of the Mercedes care is more serious. According to the statistics, the last few months alone, at least 10 accidents were registered at this crossroad, as it is not regulated by any semaphore.
