Sergiu Paiu will vacate the post of General Police Inspectorate on August 16, as the Government decided on Augusta 12, IPN reports.
He was named to this post in June 2020, after the ex-head Vadim Cojocari tendered his resignation. Sergiu Paiu earlier headed the National Public Security Inspectorate, which was created by merging the National Patrol Inspectorate and the General Public Security Division.
In the same meeting, the Government discharged Igor Curov from the post of secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection based on his resignation. There were also dismissed: Rostislav Rotari, as secretary general at the Ministry of Defense; Alexandru Oprea, as secretary of state at the Ministry of the Interior; Valentina Țapeș, as secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, and Vasile Cușca, as secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The Government also named two new secretaries of state at the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Culture. These are Vadim Gumene and Adriana Cazacu-Țigaie.
Octavian Rău was discharged as the director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology.
Also, the ex-director of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency Eremei Prisajeniuc was restored to this post as of August 12 and will be paid salary for forced absence for the period between November 11, 2020 and August 12, 2021, in accordance with a decision taken by the Chisinau City Court, which classed the functionary’s dismissal as illegal.
Lina Gudima was named deputy director general of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency.
