Politician Sergiu Mocanu will be under house arrest until July 27, according to a decision made by the Buiucani District Court on July 10. Mocanu has been under house arrest since 11 June, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Sergiu Mocanu said that political pressure is still exerted on him and the police continue to act by order of Vladimir Voronin. By isolating him from the society, he is made a war prisoner, the European Action Movement, of which Mocanu is a member, says in a communiqué.
The politician is accused of organizing and conducting the April 7 protests in downtown Chisinau. He was arrested on April 8, released from the remand center on June 11 and placed under house arrest.
