Employment contests for public functions announced by the new government are carried out in accordance with the laws voted in by the former government. For that reason, some results do not meet the expectations of the citizens. The previous statements were expressed by Sergiu Litvinenco, ACUM/PAS, chairman of the legal committee for appointments and immunities, at the Radio Free Europe program "Punct și de la capăt".
Sergiu Litvinenco said that the laws previously voted by the former ruling party, which today criticizes the results of contests for public functions, establish that these contests are held by the parliamentary committees, which are formed by exponents of political parties. "Each commission has a certain proportion of party members, a fact that generates discussions regarding the objectivity of the results", the MP said.
According to the mp, those who made the laws did it in their own interest: "convenient application of laws which should elect the desired winner." Asked about the results of competitions held so far, Sergiu Litvinenco says that "competition commissions should be created all over again". "According to current legal provisions, the contest commissions are made up of politicians. I have already declared that I no longer accept to participate in the contest commissions made up of politicians”, said the MP.
Sergiu Litvinenco claims that there are no function distribution deals between parliamentary majority parties, yet "there are contests, which are not perfect and have issues regarding their objectivity". The leader of the Union Save Bessarabia Party, Valeriu Munteanu, a former Liberal lawmaker, said that he salutes "the reasonable compromise that has been made between the ACUM bloc and the PSRM for the removal of Plahotniuc. However, after two months of government, current reality shows that Plahotniuc can be reinvented in Moldova in another form.
