The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon is not sincere in his statements abut the necessity of joining the Customs Union and uses this message for personal purposes in order to get a seat of MP, secretary general of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Sergiu Coropceanu said in the program “Fourth power” on N 4 TV channel, IPN reports.

Coropceanu stated that Dodon prepared Moldova for entering the European Union as a member of the Cabinet during the Communist administration and should now assume responsibility for this. “Igor Dodon destroyed himself. I’m not envious of him. The people should not appraise the supporters of the Customs Union by the parties that absorb money by using such a slogan,” he said.

The PSD’s secretary general also criticized the leader of the Socialists for meeting Russian high-ranking officials, including President Vladimir Putin. “It’s easy to have an audience, but it is the goal pursued by such an audience that counts – to beg or to kneel down. I would like the discussions will all the member states of the Customs Union to be from equal to equal,” he stated.

Asked about the defection of Mihail Formuzal from the electoral bloc “Moldova’s Choice – Customs Union, of which the PSD forms part, Coropceanu said the governor of Gagauzia withdrew in connection with the fact that only five polling places will be established in Russia. “Formuzal withdrew in order to return to the Government. As a member of the Cabinet, he will make effort for the number of polling places in Russia to be increased. Afterward he will return,” he noted.
