“International observers attended the meetings of President Igor Dodon with citizens, but none of these underlined any campaigning act on the part of the President in favor of the Party of Socialists,” stated jurist Sergey Mishin, who is the President’s adviser for interethnic relations and runs for MP on the list of the Party of Socialists, IPN reports.

Sergey Mishin wondered if the involvement of secretaries of state of ministries and representatives of local public authorities dressed in clothes with the emblem of the Democratic Party in the PDM’s caravan does not represent use of administrative resources.

The jurist said many of the supporters of the Party of Socialists are ready to take to the streets in connection with the warning issued by the Central Election Commission to the presidential administration.

Politologist Pavel Midrigan said he anticipates early parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova given that the politicians in the current election campaign do not leave room for discussions and negotiations in the future Parliament. If early elections are held, the Republic of Moldova will lag behind in a larger number of areas.

On February 8, the Central Election Commission warned the presidential administration about the inadmissibility of becoming involved in the election campaign. By a CEC decision, the Party of Socialists was warned against using the administrative resources of the Presidential Office. The decisions were taken after the Liberal Party and the Shor Party notified the Commission that President Dodon uses image transfer and supports the PSRM.
