Athlete Sergey Marghiev was a few centimeters from the winner’s rostrum at the European Throwing Cup held in Leiria, Portugal, IPN reports.
He finished fourth in the hammer throw event with the result of 74.54 meters, 42 centimeters behind Greece’s Christos Frantzeskakis. Ukraine’s Mykhaylo Kokhan became the winner (78.13), while Bence Halasz of Hungary ranked second (76.22).
In the women’s competition in the same event, Zalina Marghiev finished sixth with the result of 69.64 meters.
