Moldova won no medal at the World University Games held in Gwangju, South Korea. Athlete Serghei Marghiev was the closest to the winner’s rostrum in hammer throw, IPN reports.
He ranked fourth with the result of 73.65 meters. One month ago, Marghiev scored a poorer result at the Baku European Games, even if he ranked second there.
Among Moldova’s representatives at the World University Games, Cristina Budescu ranked fifth in judo, in the 48 kg class, Natalia Stratulat finished seventh in discus throw with the result of 54.74 meters, while Andrei Rotaru reached the taekwondo quarterfinals.
