Sergey Lavrov meets MPs Igor Dodon and Zinaida Greceanyi

Lawmakers Igor Dodon and Zinaida Greceanyi discussed possibilities of strengthening the Moldovan-Russian cooperation relations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a meeting in Chisinau on November 22, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the press service of MP Igor Dodon, the interlocutors spoke about the prospects of Moldova’s cooperation relations with the CIS countries. The lawmaker welcomed the signing of the Free Trade Agreement by Moldova and the CIS states and stressed the importance of examining the results achieved by the member countries of the Eurasian Customs Union. In another development, the interlocutors conferred on the sociopolitical situation in Moldova, underlining the necessity of overcoming the political crisis and electing the head of state. As to the Transnistrian dispute, they stressed that it can be resolved only if there is will on both banks of the Nistru River. Sergey Lavrov has paid a working visit to Chisinau at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Iurie Leanca. He had meetings with Acting President Marian Lupu and Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
