The chairman of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party Serafim Urecheanu was the first of the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration to vote in the referendum. He came to polling place No. 201 established at “Mihai Sadoveanu” High School at 9am, accompanied by his five-year-old granddaughter Anastasia, Info-Prim Neo reports. Serafim Urecheanu asked the voting commission to allow Anastasia to enter the polling booth. Afterward, his granddaughter put the ballot in the box. “It is the younger generation that must decide the future,” Serafim Urecheanu said after voting. He also said that he came to vote with positive thoughts and voiced hope that the plebiscite will bring all the contradictory discussions in society and within political parties to an end. "The road to the referendum was long. The people will show how they want the head of state to be elected and the politicians will do as the people want,” Serafim Urecheanu said. According to the head of the electoral office of polling place No. 201 Oleg Sadovich, 37 persons have voted there by 9.30, a lower number of voters compared with other elections.
