The leader of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) Serafim Urecheanu rules out the possibility of cooperating with the Communists Party (PCRM) after the November early legislative elections.
Asked by Info-Prim Neo to comment on analysts' assertions that one of the components of the governing alliance could form a coalition with the PCRM, Serafim Urecheanu said the AMN has been the most consistent party after 2005. No MP of the AMN voted in favor of Vladimir Voronin for the post of head of state. “The Democrats and the Social-Liberals, namely Diacov, Filat and Serebrian, supported his candidacy,” Serafim Urecheanu said, adding his party did not form an alliance with the Communists Party after the local general elections either.
“In 2009, after April 5, I accepted the dialogue with the PCRM at the insistence of the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Filat and Ghimpu refused categorically. We could not refuse as the country's future was at stake. We exposed our image to risks, but no member of out party could be bought,” the AMN leader said. He stressed the insinuations that his party intends to form a coalition with the PCRM are groundless.
Former Minister of Security Anatol Plugaru and the chairman of the Centrist Union of Moldova Mihai Petrache said recently that one of the components of the ruling alliance, except the PL and the PLDM, might form a coalition with the PCRM.
In a program on the public TV channel Moldova 1 earlier, the leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said a coalition with the PCRM is problematic as Voronin, Muntean and Tkachuk are not reliable.
