Serafim Urecheanu: I know who Audit Office served until now

“I know very well all the mechanisms and who the Audit Office served until now,” the new president of the Audit Office Serafim Urecheanu said, stressing he will make sure that every leu is under public control, Info-Prim Neo reports. Serafim Urecheanu said that he will not try to settle accounts with the companies that manage the public money as the Communist MPs asserted. “The law enforcement bodies will be informed about economic entities that break the law,” he stated. Commenting on the PCRM’s statement that he does not meet the requirements for holding this post, Serafim Urecheanu said he obtained the title of Doctor Habilitate of Economy in 2003 and accumulated experience in managing public finances while working as mayor of Chisinau during 11 years. The same day, the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said the position of Audit Office president was given to Serafim Urecheanu in recompense for his involvement in the April 7, 2009 events. “Urecheanu probably played a special role in those events and those who planned that coup now have to reward him. Urecheanu was to be the scapegoat that was to carry out the coup together with others,” he stated. Serafim Urecheanu was voted in as president of the Audit Office in the April 21 sitting of the legislative body. The Communist opposition did not attend the meeting.
