Serafim Urecheanu: “I do not have cousins in Chisinau”

Former Mayor General of Chisinau Serafim Urecheanu, the leader of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), denies the assertion that he has a cousin in Chisinau, who is involved in business at the Central Market. The denial comes after persons who sell young trees and plants on Armeneasca St, near the Central Market, on June 9 told Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca that they pay by 50 lei to a businessman who, according to them, was Serafim Urecheanu's cousin. This information was disseminated by the press, including Info-Prim Neo. “Regretfully, I do not have cousins in Chisinau. I have two cousins, but they are in Larga village in Briceni district. I know nothing about the managers and companies working at the Central Market and who the people pay money to. I have no connection with the Central Market,” Urecheanu said. The leader of the AMN also said the statements are made in the context of the future electoral campaign for the local elections of 2011.
