As many as 2,601 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Moldova during March 7-13. The incidence rate the past seven days was 67 cases per 100,000 people, a decline of 32.6% compared with a week before. In Moldova, the Omicron variant was confirmed in all the samples examined by the sequencing method, IPN reports.
During March 7-13, the number of pregnant women who got infected with COVID-19 declined to ten cases. Also, fewer children became infected – 496.
In the period, there were recorded 57 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus.
Full immunization coverage among the general population is 31%. Almost 10,000 COVID certificates issued abroad have been conformed so far.
The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission extended the state of public health emergency nationwide until April 15 inclusive. Moldova by March 14 has got over 508,000 cases of COVID-19. The death toll stands at 11,357.
