A woman was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment for recruiting a young woman who had been sexually exploited for 8 months in Turkey. The woman received the news in jail, as she had been arrested in 2008 for killing her own father, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the woman, helped by a man, recruited a girl from a poor family, telling her she would be a housemaid in Turkey. She spent a week in Chisinau's suburbs, while her papers were prepared. Then, she went to Ukraine and took a plane for Istanbul. The trafficker met her and housed her for a week, then told her she had been sold for $1,000 to practice prostitution. However, the man was discharged by the court, and the prosecutors said they would appeal the decision.
