President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Pavel Filip gave their condolences to their Portuguese counterparts in connection with the devastating forest fire in Portugal that killed dozens, IPN reports.
“We are profoundly saddened by such an event that claimed innocent lives, separated families and left deep imprints on the souls of the survivors,” says the message of Prime Minister Pavel Filip sent to his Portuguese counterpart António Costa. In his name and in the name of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Pavel Filip expressed his solidarity with the people of Portugal and offered his condolences to the relatives of those killed and transmitted wishes of a speedy recovery to those hurt and affected by the fire and its consequences.
“The news about the devastating vegetation fire that struck the Portuguese Republic rocked the whole word. We are deeply disturbed by the fact that innocent families have been affected, with many being killed and injured. In these moments when nature causes havoc, in the name of the Republic of Moldova and in my personal name, I express my sincere condolences to the grieving families, encouragement to the victims and wishes of a quick recovery to those hurt,” says the message of President Igor Dodon, which was addressed to the President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa.
According to the latest reports made public by the Government of Portugal, the death toll from the forest fire in central Portugal rose to 57, with about 60 persons being hurt.
