Senior officials express condolences to family of Mihai Curagau

Moldovan senior officials offered their condolences to the family of Mihai Curagau. The obituary was signed by Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Minister of Culture Monica Babuc, IPN reports.

“We express sincere condolences to the family, relatives, artist friends of Mihai Curagau and to all those who knew and praised him cut. God rest him,” says the obituary.

Mihail Curagau was born in Balanesti, Nisporeni on August 15, 1943. He studied stage and film acting at the Institute of Arts “Gavriil Muzicescu” in Chisinau. He made his debut as an actor in Gheorghe Voda’s film “A guard is being looked for”, made at “Moldova-film” studio in 1967. He then cooperated with famous producers, including Emil Loteanu, Vasile Pascaru and Igor Cobaleanski and played over 40 roles in films made in the country and abroad.

During half a century, he worked as an actor at the Music-Drama Theater “A.S. Pushkin” (currently National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”). Since 1990 until present, he had acted at the Chisinau Theater “Satiricus” with whose troops he played on the stages of a number of countries.

For his exceptional merits, Mihai Curagau was conferred numerous national prizes and honorific titles, including of People’s Artist, and state awards. He is a knight of the Order of the Republic.

Famous and beloved actor Mihai Curagau died on December 24. He is buried today, December 26.
