The senior state officials of Moldova offered their condolences to the Romanian Royal House in connection with the death of Queen Ana of Romania, IPN reports.

In his message, President Nicolae Timofti wrote it is painful that Peles Castle is mourning only two months of the emotional ceremony held to celebrate 150 years of Royalty. “Queen Ana was and will remain a symbol of the grandeur and dignity of the Romanian nation. Alongside the King, during the years of exile, she promoted and loved her country, believing in Romania’s return to democracy. With the same clean feelings, as the whole royal family, during her last years of life she supported the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova. Queen Ana deserves her place in the history of Romania and all the Romanians,” says the message.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip in his message says that the Moldovan people are near the Romanians in these moments of profound sadness and will keep the memory of the Queen alive with a lot of respect. “She was a personality of great culture and delicacy. Queen Ana dedicated with passion all her life to Romania, to the promotion of the Romanian values in the world. Romania’s accomplishments, as its dramas, were lived at high intensity of sovereign sensibility,” reads the message.

Ana de Bourbon-Parma, known as Queen Ana, was born in Paris on September 18, 1923. She was the wife of the ex-Sovereign of Romania Mihai I and the daughter of Prince René de Bourbon-Parma and Princess Margaret of Denmark.
