Representatives of the local public authorities can take part in seminars on how they can access European funds. The League of Bessarabian Students of Ploiesti, Romania, is ready to stage informative symposiums in as many Moldovan settlements as possible.
In a news conference at IPN, the League’s chairman Daniel Adam said given that Moldova is in the period of pre-accession to the EU, it was decided to launch a campaign to inform the local authorities about the benefits they can enjoy if they access non-reimbursable European funds. “The four symposiums that were already held centered on the advantages, accessing methods and the problems faced by Romania, which can be avoided by Moldova,” he stated, adding that at the second stage of the campaign, information visits will be organized to Romania, where the participants will meet with persons who already implemented European projects.
Ion Radu, deputy chairman of the League of Bessarabian Students of Ploiesti, said that a large number of very receptive persons took part in the last two symposiums staged in Stefan Voda and Cimislia. The symposiums had two stages. In the theoretical part, Romanian expert in the field Georgiana Tanase spoke about the accessing procedures. Examples of implemented projects and their results were presented in the second part that was more practical.
The local public authorities interested in accessing European funds can ask organizing such a symposium in their settlement by writing to the email address office.lsbp@gmail.com. The League of Bessarabian Students of Ploiesti is ready to stage symposiums in northern Moldova and in Transnistria, where no such events were held.
Among the projects implemented by the Ploiesti League to support Moldova’s European course are a wine tasting event in Romania and a roundtable meeting before the Vilnius Summit, where Moldova initialed the Association Agreement with the EU. A Fair of Romanian Universities will be staged in summer to inform the Moldovan graduates about the opportunities offered by these universities.
The young people said there is not much information about the benefits of the rapprochement with the EU in Moldova and they want to contribute to the country’s prosperity.
The League’s secretary general Anastasia Ivanov said the League of Bessarabian Students of Ploiesti is an apolitical, nongovernmental organization founded in 2011. It includes Moldovan students who study in Ploiesti and aims to support the Moldovan young people in the process of integrating into the Romanian society and in implementing common ideas in different social-cultural formation projects and activities.
