A criminal group specialized in smuggling and selling synthetic drugs was uncovered. Three suspects, including an 18-year-old girl, were arrested. Officers of the Anti-Drug Division and prosecutors for combating organized crime and special cases seized banned substances to the value of over 6.5 million lei, IPN reports.
Two suspects were caught red-handed while placing drugs in secret places. The policemen found packages of cocaine on them. In the apartment they rented in Chisinau, there were discovered 1 kilogram of marijuana, dozens of electronic cigarettes with cannabis oil, 110 doses of 1 gram of cocaine, 81 doses of 2 grams of marijuana, high-precision electronic scales, as well as other objects used to package drugs.
During searches at the home of the leader of the group, additional quantities of mephedrone, cocaine and devices used to seal drugs were found. Furthermore, in a forest strip in Ialoveni, the police found and seized 10 kg of amphetamine.
Among the members of the group are a 22-year-old man and his concubine, an 18-year-old girl, who were distributing drugs in Chisinau. The two took the substances in large quantities, portioned them in smaller doses and put them in various hiding places in the capital city. Customers took them and subsequently paid for the order online.
The suspects are from Edineț district. They acted on the instruction of the group's leader, a 26-year-old man, who coordinated the network and hid large quantities of drugs in a wooded area in Ialoveni district.
The three defendants were placed in preventive detention for 30 days. They face 7 to 15 years in prison.
