The section No. 2 of the Phthisiopneumology Hospital in Chisinau was closed and 17 patients were transferred to other hospitals following the dissemination through the Internet of videos showing rats eating from plates of patients receiving treatment in this section.
Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu has told IPN that an internal inquiry into this case was lunched to determine who is to blame for this situation. In two-three days, a decision is to be taken in relation to decision makers of this medical institution. The commission of inquiry is to also establish when the rat elimination procedure was performed the last time.
The Phthisiopneumology Hospital has two specialized sections. The other section, which was extensively repaired last year, continues work.
