Section No. 2 of the Chisinau-based Children’s Hospital of Contagious Diseases was reopened after renovation on December 29. The renovation works cost over 4 million lei and were covered with funds from the municipals budget, IPN reports.
Head of the Chisinau Health Division Mihai Moldovanu said there were repaired the heating, water supply and sewerage networks, the rooms and corridors. The hospital has been 90% renovated so far and about 13 million lei was spent for the purpose. In 2018, it will be the beneficiary of the energy efficiency project. The roofs and façade will be restored and the windows will be replaced.
Mihai Moldovanu said the hospital is the only institution of such a kind in the country and therefore is overcrowded.
Not all the rooms have hot water and this is a problem. The Hospital’s head Ludmila Barca said the institution has an autonomous heating system that does not yet heat water. The networks are to be adjusted. Until then the water will be heated by boilers, but not all the rooms are supplied with hot water.
