“Secret that Protects Me” – book that gained Chisinau City Hall officials’ sympathy

The Chisinau City Hall awarded writer Grigore Vieru the first prize for the best book presented at the International Children’s Book Fair – “Secret that Protects Me”, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to organizers, this year’s edition of the fair brought together 120 publishing houses from 10 countries, including Moldova, Romania, Russia, France, China, Ukraine, and Belarus. As at the previous editions, book shows, workshops, symposiums, a video conference between Moldova and the United States were held as part of the four-day fair. The winners of the contest “Ofrandă Donation for My Library” met at the first Children’s Forum. The aims of the fair are to encourage the printing and distribution of books for children, to promote the books with great artistic merit and to support those that contribute to the creation and printing of publications for children. This year’s edition was organized by the National Division of the International Children’s and Youth Book Council, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Ministry of Education and Youth, the Chisinau City Hall, the National Commission of the Republic of Moldova for UNESCO, the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga”, the Writers Union, the Book Distribution Company “Pro Noi” etc.
