A second round of voting to choose the own representative to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will be held in Congaz constituency on April 5. The deputy head of the Comrat Election Commission Oxana Nedealco has told IPN that none of the three contenders who ran in the elections polled the necessary number of votes.
The two candidates who won the largest number of votes will compete in the second round. These are Vitalie Chiurcciu and Ivan Telpiz. Petru Ianacov was excluded from the race.
Elections to choose the own representative to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia were also held in Gaidar constituency, where only one person ran. Zinaida Popaz won the number of votes needed to be declared winner.
The partial elections for the People’s Assembly were announced after the representatives of the two constituencies Fiodor Gagauz and Demian Caraseni won the seats of lawmaker and entered Parliament.
