The choir La La Play Voices that consists of 130 children aged between 10 and 16 from all over the country, alongside the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, gave an open-air concert in the Square of the Metropolitan Cathedral in central Chisinau, under the guidance of conductors Cristian Spătaru and Andriano Marian, on July 26, IPN reports.

The finalists of the social inclusion project La La Play Voices were chosen out of 400 candidates nationwide, including autists and children with locomotor disabilities. Together with the orchestra, the children sang over 20 songs, such as “If I had” by Ștefan Petrache, Symphony No. 36 by Mozart and “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. All those who wanted could watch the concert freer of charge.

Attending the event, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Liliana Nicolăescu-Onofrei voiced hope that this project, alongside other projects, will be further supported as this is a very nice one. She addressed the children, telling them to praise each other and to keep their individual voices.

UNICEF Moldova Country Representative Desiree Jongsma welcomed the existence of such an initiative in Moldova. She said she convinced herself that the young people in Moldova have a lot of courage and inspiration and they should only develop these qualities.

According to the organizers, the project represents the ethnic and social diversity of Moldova. The social inclusion project La La Play Voices is at its second edition, with the first being held in 2018.
