The risk categories this year will be immunized against seasonal flu starting with December 22. The consignment of 150,000 flu shots was provided free by foreign partners. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Health, IPN reports.
On December 15-18, the flu vaccines will be received. According to the press service of the Ministry, the consignment will satisfy the vaccination needs this season.
The lot of flu shots is usually bought by the National Health Insurance Company. This year, the two tender contests held by the company failed because the submitted bids didn’t meet the requirements. “After analyzing the bids, the company’s working group for purchases ascertained that the preparations proposed by the participants in the contests weren’t pre-qualified by the World Health Organization. This is a mandatory condition and represents a guarantee of the quality and safety of the preparation,” said the National Health Insurance Company.
The categories of people that will be vaccinated free include the children and adults with chronic diseases and the contingents exposed to an increased risk of becoming infected, namely hospital and public health service workers, students and residents of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “N. Testemitanu”, students of medicine colleges, personnel of social insurance institutions, placement centers, orphanages, boarding schools, sanatoriums and old people’s homes.
