The Chisinau Electric Transport Company decided to increase the price of season tickets for travelling by trolleybus for private individuals and legal entities from February 1. At the same time, the Chisinau City Hall said it will carry out an assessment to see if the company’s decision is justified from legal and economic viewpoints, IPN reports.
The Electric Transport Company said the move follows the rise in the electric power tariffs. Thus, a monthly season ticket for private individuals will be sold for 200 lei, up 20 lei. A half-month ticket for legal entities will cost 110 lei, up 10 lei, while a monthly ticket – 320 lei, up 20 lei. The pensioners and students will pay the same amount as until now.
The Chisinau City Hall specified that the decision to modify the price of season tickets was taken by the administration of the Electric Transport Company at the suggestion of the company’s Economic Board, without consulting and informing the mayor of Chisinau or the Municipal Council.
