Law enforcement officers raided the Orhei mayor’s office in a case started over passive corruption and violation of the way of managing the financial means of political parties or electoral funds. The information was confirmed for IPN by the spokeswoman for the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) Angela Starinschi.
“A number of civil servants are involved. We will provide details about the suspects after the procedural actions are completed,” stated Angela Starinschi.
The press reported that the mayor and a deputy mayor of Orhei were detained, but the information has not yet been confirmed by the NAC.
