A member of the staff of the Tiraspol Lyceum “Lucian Blaga” submitted a complaint. This is the reason why the school was searched. At least this is the reason invoked by prosecutors who carried out the searches, deputy principal Raisa Padureanu has told IPN. The staff member complained about deductions from the salary and pressure exerted by the institution’s administration.

Raisa Padureanu said the prosecutors asked the director to present a number of documents concerning the lyceum’s work, but he refused and was thus interrogated. Before leaving, the prosecutors wrote down the home addresses of all the staff members. “We are now waiting for surprises. They can pay visits to each of us,” she stated.

The lessons weren’t suspended during he searches, but the students were stressed out by the presence of the prosecutors and militia men, said the school’s deputy principal.

In the Transnistrian region there are eight Romanian language lyceums teaching based on the Latin script. The Transnistrian militia searched them several times, banning the staff from hoisting the national flag of Moldova and from playing the state anthem at the school year beginning and end ceremonies.
