The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure proposed instating a new professional holiday – the Naval Transport Worker’s Day. The draft decision was proposed for public debates, IPN reports.
The draft decision is designed to align the Republic of Moldova with the best international practices and resolutions of the International Maritime Organization by which the International Day of the Seafarer is annually celebrated on June 25, says the informative note to the bill.
There are over 40 business entities that ship fright by water at the Giurgiulești International Airport. The Naval Agency has 22 employees. The Naval Transport Worker’s Day is intended not for thousands of people, but for several tens of persons who work for foreign companies, said officials of the Ministry.
